Arboreal Management Plan of the European University Institute of Florence

Urban Green is a useful element in improving the quality of life in the city and the tree stock is one of its most important components.

The Arboreal Management Plan is a complex document, as it involves taking a census of the trees, monitoring the trees, scheduling cultivation care and replacement and renewal operations. The study covered 6 areas (about 18 hectares in total) owned by the Provveditorato Interregionale alle OO. PP.

Toscana Marche Umbria and managed by the European University Institute. Over 3,000 plants were surveyed, of which approximately 1,300 were subjected to an integrated tree stability assessment that defined their hazard and tree risk. The data is stored in special green management software, supplied by D.R.E.Am. Italy
