Varaita Valley Enterprise Forest Plans

The Val Varaita Enterprise Forest Plans are an example of third-level spatial planning (8 municipal properties in the province of Cuneo, covering over 5400 ha), conducted using precision forestry techniques.
The LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging or Laser Imaging Detection and Ranging) survey carried out by the Piedmont Region (ICE flight 2009-2011) was used to estimate the main dendrometric and structural parameters, and therefore also the wood masses present. PSR 2014-2020 of the Piedmont Region – Measure M8 – Operation 16.8.1 “Forest Plans and equivalent instruments.”
